For some guests, having a car is essential for accessing the Hanging Lake Trailhead because it’s located in a remote area of Glenwood Canyon, with no direct public transportation options. The trailhead is only reachable via the Hanging Lake exit off I-70. A personal vehicle allows flexibility and ensures you can meet permit requirements to arrive on schedule—Without a car, you may only reach this destination by the Glenwood Canyon Bike Path. Uber, taxis, and drop-offs are not permitted due to potential emergency evacuations. There is no shuttle service to the Hanging Lake parking area.
